The Difference Between High Frequency and Radio Frequency As Skin Treatments

The Difference Between High Frequency and Radio Frequency As Skin Treatments

IN THIS ARTICLE:

The trend of foregoing in-salon treatments in favor of at-home alternatives is growing. Factors influencing this upward trend include cost, convenience, and, of course, more sophisticated beauty technology allowing for significantly better skin results from home than ever before. Two emerging treatments are high-frequency and radio-frequency skin technology. A high-frequency facial and radio-frequency facial may sound similar, but they are two entirely different treatments.

What is a High-Frequency Facial?

A high-frequency facial is a beauty treatment that can be performed from home with a device known as a high-frequency wand or in a professional setting. High-frequency technology passes inert gas (neon or argon) through a glass applicator to deliver various benefits to the skin. Neon (Orange) inert gas generates oxygen to promote cell renewal, improve skin texture, and smooth fine lines. Argon (Purple) creates oxygen with having anti-microbial effect. Bacteria cannot survive in an oxygen-rich environment to prevent and manage acne, papules, and excess sebum.

High-frequency technology is very versatile, which is why it has become so popular for at-home use. Instead of investing in multiple beauty tools, you can use one device to target acne and blemishes and support healthy skin aging, texture, and overall skin rejuvenation.

What are the Benefits of a High-Frequency Wand?

Neon (Orange)

  • Tackles the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Contract blood vessels to improve visible redness
  • Boost circulation
  • Improves skin texture
  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Rejuvenate the scalp to promote healthier hair growth

Argon (Purple)

  • Zaps acne
  • Eliminate bacteria that cause acne
  • Boost circulation and cell function
  • Promotes collagen synthesis
  • Minimize pores
  • Maximizes absorption of skincare serums
  • Enhance hair and scalp health

How to Use a High-Frequency Wand for Hair Growth

What is a Radio Frequency Facial?

A radio frequency facial is a skin treatment that uses a radio frequency device to tighten loose skin and smooth wrinkles. It differs from high-frequency in that it uses electrical currents to support collagen synthesis. Radio frequency currents are delivered in continuous wave mode for cosmetic purposes.

There are two radio frequency techniques used for anti-aging and skin tightening

  1. Tissue hyperthermia: Electrical currents applied to the skin to a temperature greater than normally present in the body trigger a physiological response to modify the appearance of skin and reduce subcutaneous fat. It stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen and alters the metabolism of fat cells to mobilize and dissolve stored energy.
  2. Collagen Contraction: Thermal energy is applied to the skin, changing the structure of proteins to support collagen synthesis

What are the Benefits of A Radio Frequency Facial?

  • Tighter skin
  • Cell rejuvenation
  • More elastic complexion
  • Accelerates blood circulation
  • Relaxes muscles
  • Breaks down cellulite
  • Breaks down fat deposits under the skin
  • Reduction in the appearance of crow's feet and other wrinkles

What Is The Difference Between Radio Frequency Vs High-Frequency Treatments?

While both are research-backed approaches to skin rejuvenation and to support better skin aging through a renewed, blemish-free complexion, there are some key differences between the two treatments.

Can You Combine High Frequency and Radio Frequency Treatments?

Yes, combining both high frequency and radio frequency is a great way to target multiple skin concerns at much, particularly for changing skin types. Radio frequency should be a staple in any anti-aging routine to maintain and rebuild collagen, but adding high-frequency offers the skin an additional glow and rejuvenation by enhancing circulation to deliver much-needed nutrients and oxygen to the skin. It is always great to have a high-frequency wand on hand to manage sporadic breakouts that persist into adulthood.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

High-frequency treatments can indeed stimulate hair follicles and promote hair growth. These treatments work by using a mild electrical current to enhance blood circulation to the scalp, improving the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles. This increased blood flow can potentially encourage hair growth.

It’s important to note that individual needs may vary, so it’s always a good idea to consult with a professional or hair care specialist to determine the optimal frequency of high frequency treatments based on your specific hair and scalp condition.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to ask.
